Fit Out Awards 2026 -Shortlisted

We are delighted to share that The Space Between, a solo exhibition by Irish artist Luke Reidy, created in collaboration with Helena McElmeel Architects, has been shortlisted for the Fit Out Awards 2026.

Presented at Outset Gallery as part of Galway International Arts Festival, the exhibition brought together contemporary art, architecture and interior design to create an immersive experience.

Bespoke architectural structures transformed the gallery environment, exploring how colour, shape, material and space can influence the way we experience artwork.

The nomination is a wonderful recognition of the collaboration and the ambition behind the project, bringing art and architecture together in a new and engaging way.

"The Space Between"

We are delighted to announce our upcoming show for Galway International Arts Festival is "The Space Between" - a solo exhibition from Co-Director of Outset Gallery @lukereidyy in collaboration with @helenamcelmeelarchitects

The Space Between will transform Outset Gallery into a fully immersive interior experience where art, architecture, and design converge. Developed by painter and printmaker Luke Reidy in collaboration with Helena McElmeel Architects, the exhibition reimagines how contemporary interiors can be experienced, pushing the boundaries of colour, form, and spatial design.

Rather than a single space, the exhibition unfolds across a series of interconnected environments, rooms, thresholds, and transitional spaces each shaped by Reidy’s abstract visual language. Architectural elements and surfaces work in dialogue with a new body of paintings and screenprints, blurring the line between artwork and inhabitable space.

Playing on the idea of “the space between,” the exhibition explores the relationships between interior and artwork, structure and surface, movement and perception. Visitors are invited to move through and experience a bold, considered vision of how art can shape the spaces we live in.

The show launches on Saturday 11th July and will run until 9th August.

Keep an eye out on our socials to find out more about the upcoming opening event and artist talk!
